New Ontario Express Entry Draw Sent Out 1,287 PR Invitations

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Express Entry draw issued a total of 1,287 invitations for provincial nomination under the Skilled Trades Stream.

This round of invitations selected all Express Entry profiles with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 400 and 435 and experience in one of the 46 skilled trade occupations specified as primary NOC.

Additionally, active Express Entry profiles created between August 22, 2023, and August 22, 2024 that met the aforementioned criteria were eligible for this OINP draw.

The cutoff score range has expanded considerably in comparison to the previous OINP Skilled Trades Stream draw.

The CRS score’s lower range has dropped by 8 points from 408 to 400, while the upper range remains the same.

OINP typically determines the upper range of the CRS score based on the most recent federal Express Entry draw for 10 trade occupations.

Nevertheless, trade candidates in the pool have consistently expressed their apprehensions regarding the exclusion of profiles with experience in the remaining 35–36 occupations from both OINP Express Entry draws and Federal Express Entry draws.

Candidates who receive an invitation now have 45 days to accept it and submit a thorough application to be considered for the provincial nomination.

The provincial nomination improves the candidate’s current Express Entry profile by 600 points.

The invited profiles’ Express Entry CRS score will increase to a range of 1,000 to 1,035, which will serve as a guarantee for selection in the forthcoming PNP or all program Express Entry drawings.

The Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw does not require a unique OINP profile; rather, valid profiles must align with one of the trade occupations that are eligible for this draw.

OINP conducts routine assessments of the Express Entry pool maintained by IRCC to identify characteristics that may satisfy the requirements of one of Ontario’s Express Entry streams.
